DEI Made America Great

How does God both maintain patriarchy while simultaneously caring for women? Is God silent regarding slavery - but now advocating for racial justice? Those of us who use a sacred text, such as the Bible, may find ourselves struggling to convince others that God is on the side of the oppressed.

This notion that inequity is somehow a Christian value has become a theme within public discourse. The incoming presidential administration uses the slogan of “Making America Great Again” with the inference that we will return to a time where everyone in society knew their “place,” and White men - even mediocre White men, could ascend to positions of power based on their place within the social hierarchy.

Companies using methods of diversity actually make more money - in part - because the focus is on the best talent and not a social hierarchy. Using this logic, Stacey Abrams claims that DEI made America great and it can do so again.
