The Gender Institute at Royal Holloway University of London is now accepting applications for the academic year 2025/26 for our MSc Gender Studies. Details attached.
MSc Gender Studies is a unique interdisciplinary degree that provides students with critical, advanced knowledge of gender research, theory and practice, based in contemporary intersectional gender and sexuality studies, while also allowing students to develop specialist knowledge in a specific subject area.
MSc Gender Studies students at Royal Holloway can choose to study on one of the following pathways:
· MSc Gender Studies and Global Futures
· MSc Gender Studies and History
· MSc Gender Studies and History & Socio-Legal Studies
· MSc Gender Studies and International Relations
· MSc Gender Studies and Philosophy
· MSc Gender Studies and Politics

The course structure has three key components:
1. Core Gender Studies modules, including gender theory, methods for gender studies, and practices of gendered research;
2. A Gender Studies Dissertation, supervised by an expert from the Gender Studies programme or subject department;
3. Subject-specific optional modules, depending on the choice of pathway.
About us: The Gender Institute at Royal Holloway, University of London was established in 2020 with the goal of becoming a hub for study, teaching, learning, and activism about gender and sexuality on campus.
The Institute has three primary goals:
1. to support faculty and student research and research collaboration in the study of gender and sexuality,
2. to support teaching and learning of and around gender and sexuality, and
3. to produce resources for community engagement and impact around gender and sexuality.
