The YBA Executive and Staff Team are pleased to be able to share the news of the appointment of Revd Leoné Martin as Regional Minister in the YBA. Leoné will be joining the YBA team in April 2025.
Leoné is currently serving as Associate Minister at Cannon Street Memorial Baptist Church (CSMBC), Handsworth, Birmingham, located in the Heart of England Baptist Association. She studied for her BA in Theology at Spurgeon’s College and is presently studying for her Masters at Bristol Baptist College. Leoné is passionate about equipping the people of God for every good work through her preaching, teaching and writing.
Before entering ministry full-time, Leoné worked in the marketplace holding senior roles in marketing, product development and innovation as well as working as a freelance learning and development consultant. She has worked with a range of global and national companies and is dedicated to using her commercial experience to advance the Kingdom of God.
Leoné loves exploring new places and meeting new people. Whether she’s discovering a new destination, walking through nature, or getting lost in a good book, she finds joy in the journey. She also treasures spending time with family and friends, especially around a shared meal, where meaningful connections are made.
In her RM role, Leoné will get alongside ministers and churches in the West Yorkshire area, supporting them in their mission focused ministry and service. In addition to this, she will lead our work amongst the growing UK Minority Ethnic and Global Majority Heritage community, developing and growing pipelines for training and releasing younger, more diverse missional leaders, pioneers, planters and ministers.
Graham Ensor, Regional Team Leader adds, “We’re all excited about Leoné joining the YBA staff team. We believe her appointment is an answer to prayer as we looked for someone who could complement, add to and expand the skills of the current team. Leoné will bring creative and imaginative gifts that will help us further realise our vision of multiplying healthy churches across Yorkshire. We look forward to welcoming her amongst us in April 2025”.
