Dear Readers, Colleagues and Friends,
For some of us, summer will soon become a distant memory. Before it ends, we wonder if you’ve had the time to enjoy what is likely one of your favorite hobbies - reading! Those of us on Substack are often trying to catch up on reading - and we believe you’re no exception.
What are you reading this summer? Where are you drawing your inspiration and what type of resources are you seeking for your reading?
Womanist approaches to Theology, Biblical Studies and Ethics prioritizes the epistemological insights of African descended women. As such, sacred text may include the Judeo-Christian Bible or Quran but will also include additional texts. For Christian scholars, these may be termed “extra-Biblical” texts. They will include texts from literature, music or film and even history.
We are sharing the reading list below. It is not exhaustive, but the reading list entails resources within various categories, bringing to light the contributions of Black, African descended women.
We hope to provide additional resources throughout the year. Until then, please feel free to also click here to read the reading list.
