Call for Papers - Revised Date
Dear all,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a pleasant and restful festive break.
Given that most of us are settling back into work and catching up on emails and things this week, the Committee has decided to extend the deadline for the Calls for Papers by a week, to the new deadline of 15th January 2025 (17:00 GMT).
Here’s a reminder of our two sets of Calls for Papers:
One for our main conference theme, which for 2025 will be Flesh and Blood Theologies – details of this can be found here: https://www.theologysociety.org.uk/information/2025-conference-call-for-papers/
A set of calls for our seminar streams, which span a total of eleven topics pertaining to a wide range of theological issues and interests – more details of these can be found here: https://www.theologysociety.org.uk/information/2025-conference-call-for-papers-seminar-streams/
For any queries about abstract submissions, please contact admin@theologysociety.org.uk.
Alongside short papers, #SST25 will feature contributions from the following plenary speakers:
Margaret Kamitsuka (Francis W. and Lydia L. Davis Professor Emeritus of Religion, Yale Divinity School)*
Diane M. Stewart (Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Religion and African American Studies, Emory University)
David Grumett (Senior Lecturer in Theology and Ethics, University of Edinburgh)
TBC*
*This is a change from the originally advertised line-up of plenary speakers, because of speakers’ personal circumstances.
The conference will take place at the University of Warwick, 7-10 April 2025. (Details of online attendance at plenary sessions will be confirmed shortly; unfortunately, however, #SST25 is not a fully hybrid event and so we will not be able to facilitate online short paper presentations or attendance.)
If you would like to apply for a bursary to support your attendance at the conference, you can find details of these – including an application form – on the website: https://www.theologysociety.org.uk/information/bursary/.
We also invite applications for the Black theology prize, the deadline for which is 31st January 2025. Details of the prize, including the application process, can be found here: https://www.theologysociety.org.uk/prizes/
Conference registration and bookings will be made available shortly.
We look forward to receiving your proposals for presentations and to welcoming you to Warwick in April 2025! And, in the meantime, wishing you all a relaxing festive break and a joyous start to 2025.
