Dear Readers,
Doctoral students and Early Career Scholars often seek fellowships to increase their experience and fund their research. Though these are not fellowships specifically within religion, they can be used for inter-disciplinary scholarship. Some deadlines may already have passed, but others are right around the corner.

If you’re looking to make your upcoming summer memorable by gaining valuable experiences and networking with others in your field, explore these distinctive summer fellowships! Many programs take place in the United States; however, some are open to international students, and one takes place in Europe. The list includes opportunities for learning new languages, educational leadership, computer science research, public policy, addressing community and world issues, international affairs, social change, and even literary poetry. Education Pioneers Summer Fellowship
The EP Summer Fellowship connects professionals with project management and data analysis experience with leading organizations to transform education outside the classroom. Fellows build leadership skills, network, and learn about policies necessary for driving change. During the 10-week program, participants are matched with high-impact placement opportunities at leading educational organizations, allowing them to contribute to a specific project over ten consecutive weeks. This experience shows what a full-time role in the education sector entails and the potential contribution you can make throughout your career. Fellows also receive a stipend of $7,200.

Humanity In Action Fellowship
The HIA Fellowship programs assemble diverse groups of college students and recent graduates worldwide to delve into the historical narratives of discrimination and resilience within nations. They also examine contemporary challenges faced by various minority groups. This intensive 4-week summer fellowship takes place in Europe or the United States. As an interdisciplinary program, it features daily lectures and discussions led by renowned academics, journalists, and activists. Eligible applicants include students and recent graduates, including international students, from universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, and the United States. HIA fully covers the costs of participation and accommodations.

Eben Tisdale Public Policy Fellowship
The Eben Tisdale Fellowship provides students with hands-on experience working on high-tech public policy issues in Washington, D.C. The Fellowship provides a full scholarship to attend the Business + Government Relations program, an academic internship program sponsored by The Fund for American Studies, as well as a $1,000 stipend. Eban Tisdale Fellows are placed with a high-tech company, firm, or trade association, take two classes worth six credits from George Mason University, and live in furnished apartments on George Washington University’s downtown campus. Fellows also attend weekly issues seminar lunches hosted by Tisdale sponsors. Check the website for priority deadlines.

Urban Leaders Fellowship
The Urban Leaders Fellowship is a 7-week, paid summer program for early- to mid-career professionals wanting to transform communities through leadership and change. This fellowship is designed to expedite their growth by focusing on policy and practice. Fellows divide their time between working alongside elected officials and partnering with innovative organizations in cities nationwide. The program operates in 9 cities: Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, KCMO, Nashville, New Orleans, Oakland, and Washington, D.C. Fellows receive a base stipend of $2,500, and there are multiple application deadlines to accommodate different schedules.
