Some people think the Bible is nothing more than an ancient text that speaks to people who lived long ago. What does it say for our contemporary circumstance, for example? How does it deal with single women, or Africana women in general? There are traditional understandings of the Bible that, perhaps, keep us reading it in ways that make it appear distant and removed from our circumstances.
Perhaps this is why the work of Theologians and Bible scholars is so important. By looking at an ancient text, such as Numbers 30, we can see what the Bible instructs us regarding singleness and Africana women.
