How do scholars of the US Civil Rights Era see God's revelation in light of the courage and strength exhibited by those who fought against injustice? The ability to walk away from the voting booth, for example, is only possible, because people like Fannie Lou Hamer risked her very life to stand up against the injustices which dicated Black Americans could not vote.
How is God relevant in the midst of oppression? Is God a silent and arbitrary being who does not care, or is God a Divine presence which provides us with alternatives to fight against the oppression in our midst?
